Growing up in an African American working-class community located on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, Kimberly observed her parents, Elmer and Katherine Stowers, being actively involved in the neighborhood street association. They organized block parties and worked collaboratively with the City of Cleveland to develop a nearby public park equipped with a tennis court, swimming pool, and play area.

As a child, she learned early about the importance of caring for others and being a community builder. Moreland Resource is designed with that principle in mind. Her professional and non-profit experiences have afforded her the opportunity to meet community builders from all walks of life. Inspired by their commitment to build better and stronger communities, her passion is to help community builders, like her parents, connect to relevant, productive resources that will help them fulfill their mission and purpose.
